New Bill Would Remove Requirement for Executive Branch to Disclose the Victims of Drone Strikes

In a not-so-shocking development, the NSA and the Senate will introduce a bill that takes the requirement that “the president to issue an annual public report clarifying the total number of “combatants” and “noncombatant civilians” killed or injured by drone strikes in the previous year. It did not require the White House to disclose the total number of strikes worldwide.

4th Amendment crusader, Diane Feinstein has continued to come out in support of the drone strikes and this bill. Feinstein’s comments in the past have been filled with defense of the strikes. Including her “single digit “; comment about civilian deaths associated with drone strikes during the 2013 confirmation hear for CIA director John Brennan.

This new move by the Obama administration is another step-back in the fight for transparency.
